As the 2024 General and Presidential Elections draw near, discussion over the continuation of the current administration’s initiatives, including in the defence industry sector, have intensified. While there is a consensus among political parties and presidential candidates about the need to continuously improve the country’s overall defence autarky or self-sufficiency, there seem to be different views when it comes to deciding how much budget should be allocated and what strategic programmes should be prioritised to achieve these targets.
