Safeguarding the Path Ahead: What to Expect of Indonesian Defence Post-2024?

Given the worsening global geopolitical situation and the incomplete modernisation programme of the Indonesia National Armed Forces (TNI), it is increasingly important for presidential and vice-presidential candidates to formulate strategies that could improve Indonesia’s national defence posture. Although the three pairs of candidates for the 2024 Presidential Election shared the same vision of strengthening both TNI and the domestic defence industry, they also propose distinctive programmes which deserve further exploration.
