In his recent article published by CNBC Indonesia, our defence expert, Alman Helvas Ali, highlights the achievement of the current Minister of Defence, Prabowo Subianto, in terms of defence modernisation and procurement deals, which are moving forward. Nonetheless, M. Ali argued that M. Subianto political ambitions, as seen with Gerindra Party’s declaration to support him as a presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 General Elections should lead him to accelerate procurement execution.
