During the inauguration of Indonesia’s defence industry holding, DEFEND ID, President Widodo emphasised several objectives that the company must meet, including to be part of the global supply chain and to support domestic firms to be part of the top 50 global defence companies. M. Widodo also emphasised that Indonesia must not rely on foreign-made products and eventually be self-reliant.

They also argued that the holding must be considered as a key decision-makers and gain supports from the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in order to meet its objectives.
