Our director, Alban Sciascia, was honoured to be invited as a speaker in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held by the Centre for Regional Policy Strategy for America and Europe of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The FGD focused on mutual understanding and synergies regarding ASEAN’s outlook and European Union’s cooperation strategy in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Indo-Pacific is a vital region for global actors, and the EU, through its “Strategy for Cooperation in the Indo Pacific’ is promoting an alternative approach.

In this FGD, our director also highlighted the opportunities for ASEAN and EU to further boost cooperation to address various issues, including in defence and security affairs, while discussing the upcoming challenges that both actors will face.
