In an article published in the latest issue of Diplomatie magazine, our director, Alban Sciascia, emphasised that the modernisation of Southeast Asian navies is not only related to the increasing tensions in the region but also to mid to long-term modernisation programmes which started in the year 2000s. While the tensions are accelerating the modernisation, most countries are expecting to operate modern assets in the next decade.
